Mülheim on the Ruhr, November 7th, 2005. This recognition was due to one member in particular of the team of 8 people: Wolfgang Schagl, Product Manager, has proven once again through his commitment what it means to be dedicated to the company slogan "Neumann Elektronik. Obligated by its good reputation."

Focus on Environmental Protection

This slogan was the central thought behind the decision to become involved in the city of Vienna's "ÖkoBusinessPlan" (Ecological Business Plan) initiative (ISO 14001 module). The motivation stems from the conviction that smaller companies should also actively practice environmental protection. With the objective of reducing personal fuel consumption by 10% compared to the year 2004, the team took on a fitting measure (also as company policy): Neumann Elektronik is the primary supplier of the "U-Bahn Wien" (Vienna underground railway system). Since 1976, the team has supplied the communications technology for the entire underground network, and they are especially proud of the project to equip the newly constructed IP control centre with emergency call, PA, and station monitoring and surveillance systems.

Wolfgang Schagl says: "It's important to us to always lead the way with our good example - whether it's product development, service, or as in this case, our social commitment. Vienna's "ÖkoBusinessPlan" initiative gave us the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment in this area as well. A further important reason for our participation was that the ISO 14001 standard is gaining ever more importance in public tenders. Neumann Elektronik was one of the first companies to be certified as conforming to the ISO 9001 standard; and with ISO 14001, we are further underpinning our quality concept."
